Biography of Jane Levy
Jane Colburn Levy was born on December 29, 1989 in Los Angeles County. She is an American actress.
Jane Levy was born to Mary Levy, an artist, and Lester Levy, a musician. She grew up in Marin County in Northern California and attended high school there. While at school, she captained the women's soccer team and appeared in amateur plays such as Annie and The Wizard of Oz.
After graduating, she attended Goucher College in Maryland for a semester before moving to the Stella Adler Studio of Acting in New York. After two years in New York, she returned to Los Angeles and got her first role in Shameless, the US remake of the British dramedy television series of the same name. She played the role of Mandy Milkovich in five episodes of the showtime series, before being replaced by Emma Greenwell for the second season.
In the spring of 2011, she was cast in the lead role in the ABC comedy series Suburgatory, starring as Tessa Altman alongside Jeremy Sisto and Cheryl Hines. Since that role, she has been compared to Emma Stone because of her red hair. Levy was named one of the Outstanding Actresses of 2011 by both TV Guide and TheInsider.com and featured in the top 11 in AOL's list of Funniest Women. Halloween 2012 saw the release of the comedy Fun Size, in which Levy took on one of the leading roles alongside Victoria Justice and Chelsea Handler.
In February 2012, she took on the lead role of Mia in Evil Dead, a remake of the 1981 horror film Devil's Dance.
